Finance & Accounting Intern

Job Title: Finance & Accounting Intern (Part-Time)
Location: Remote
Duration: 10 Weeks (Part-Time), totaling 200 hours

Project Summary

Roof Maxx is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance & Accounting Intern to support our financial operations. This internship offers hands-on experience in financial analysis, budgeting, reporting, and accounting processes. Interns will work closely with our finance and accounting professionals, gaining practical insights into corporate financial management and contributing to projects that impact the company's financial health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis: Assist in analyzing financial data to identify trends and insights.
  • Budgeting Support: Help prepare and monitor budgets, including annual budgeting and financial projections.
  • Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Data Management: Maintain and update financial databases and spreadsheets.
  • Accounting Tasks: Support accounts payable and receivable processes, reconcile bank statements, and assist with journal entries.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist with Sales & Use Tax compliance and reporting, and support State Income Tax compliance and reporting processes.
  • Compliance Support: Help ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Deliverables

  • Completed financial analysis reports.
  • Assisted in annual budgeting and financial projection documents.
  • Updated financial records and databases.
  • Drafted journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Sales & Use Tax and State Income Tax compliance documentation.
  • Compliance checklists and reports.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
