Zine Designer for Immersive Performance

Creative Aya is producing Rhythmic Wave II, an award-winning multiplatform project that blends AI, motion capture, and immersive performance to archive, preserve, and reimagine movement lineages. As part of this work, we are developing Galactic Griot 1.5—a zine designed as a Trojan horse for cultural circulation: interactive, replicable, and portable like Riot Grrrl or ACT UP zines, while resisting appropriation and extraction.

This is a great opportunity for an intern to contribute to a high-profile project premiering at The Music Center LA on November 14, 2025. The zine will debut alongside the performance, serving as both program and participatory artifact that audiences can use, adapt, and carry forward.

As an intern, you will:

Gain hands-on experience at the intersection of AI, performance, and heritage preservation.

Collaborate on a project that connects ancestral knowledge and immersive technology.

Contribute directly to an artifact that will circulate globally, building visibility for your work within an internationally recognized production.
